A better way would be to sum the fame of all opposing teams teams, average it, and grant a bonus based on how much more fame they have. For example you could be playing on off hours and still run into a top 20 guild. If you win do you really deserve a fame penalty? Along the same lines during peak hours you can run into a bunch of newb groups. Fame bonus based on apparent opponent skill would be nice. As for people grouping with a bunch of low ranks to boost their fame, picking up a bunch of newbies is usually asking for it. Additionally if a rank 9 takes seven rank 0 players, gives them builds, trains them, and then beats rank 6 teams he deserves that bonus.
In a 3 way match:
Sum up the total fame for team 1 (player 1+player 2... +player n)
Sum up total fame for team 2
Average fame ( [Team 1+Team 2... Team n]/n)
Sum up fame for your team and compare to other teams. If it is less you may get a bonus.
The theory: A rank 3 team beating a rank 6 team either means the rank 6 was overrated or the rank 3 was underrated. Since you can't remove fame boost up the rank 3 team.
